Today Sky news ran a piece that did not supprise me in the slightest!

apparently "Insurers have called for a clampdown on fraudulent claims that have seen the UK labelled"the "whiplash capital of Europe"

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) said one out of 140 people claimed for a whiplash injury every year.

It warned the activities of ambulance-chasing lawyers, as well as staged "cash-for-crash" accidents, were driving up the cost of cover for honest motorists.
Whiplash occurs when the soft tissue in the spine is stretched and strained following a sudden forceful movement, such as being hit from behind in a car.
But it is often difficult to diagnose – and easy for fraudsters to fake or exaggerate.

So why am I NOT surprised

The UK now has a huge population of people that have no loyalty to it, its customs or its traditional values of “Honesty” & "Fair Play".

Pregnant women on benefits have used NHS fruit and vegetable vouchers to obtain cigarettes and alcohol, a Government report has found.

Hundreds of thousands of new and expectant mothers are given shopping coupons worth up to £322 a year, per child, in a bid to ensure that they feed their families healthily.

The programme, which gives 600,000 women on benefits vouchers specifically for milk, fruit and vegetables, was introduced by Labour four years ago, replacing a Second World War scheme which provided only free milk.

Now a Government survey of more than 2,000 retailers, health professionals and recipients has found that more than one in five knew of occasions when shops had swapped the tokens for products outside the scheme.

Critics said the findings showed that the nanny state had encouraged “shameless behaviour” by those keen to exploit the system.

As well as trading vouchers for alcohol and cigarettes, supermarkets and small convenience stores had allowed them to be used to pay for nappies, baby products, general groceries, bread, eggs and meat, the report found.

The research was carried out because the Healthy Start scheme is due to be expanded in April, so that vouchers can be swapped for frozen vegetables and fruit, as well as fresh produce.

The Department of Health (DoH) consultation on expanding the UK-wide scheme and “minimising voucher misuse” surveyed more than 2,300 retailers, beneficiaries and NHS professionals administering schemes.

In total, 21 per cent knew of occasions when a retailer had accepted the vouchers for products which should not have been allowed.

Among those polled, 34 per cent wanted to see closer monitoring of retailers in future, while 17 per cent thought the risks would increase even more as the initiative expands.

Emma Boon, campaign director of The TaxPayers’ Alliance, urged the Coalition to abolish the scheme.

She said: “All these endless handouts from the nanny state do nothing but encourage shameless behaviour from those in society who would rather spend money on cigarettes and alcohol than on their own children.” “It’s naive of the Government to give out these vouchers and expect the scheme to have an impact on how much healthy food mums or mums-to-be are buying. This misguided programme is wasting taxpayers’ money and should be scrapped.”

More than 30,000 retail outlets, including supermarkets and small corner shops, accept the vouchers, in a scheme which costs a year.

Under the programme, pregnant women on benefits such as Income Support and Jobseeker’s Allowance receive £3.10 vouchers a week to spend on fruit and vegetables, rising to £6.20 a week during the child’s first year.

They continue to receive £3.10 a week for every child between the age of one and four, meaning that a mother of three young children can receive more than £600 a year under the scheme, on top of other Government allowances, such as a £190 health in pregnancy payment, and a £500 maternity grant.

Tam Fry, from the National Obesity Forum said: “Any programme like this relies on some honesty, and there will always be pockets of people who will exploit the system and get whatever they can out of it.

“Even if some people are abusing the rules – and some traders are allowing them to – a scheme like this is for the greater good, and most women are using these vouchers to keep their families healthy.” He added: “I’m glad the scheme is staying and expanding.”

In the report, the DoH said it did not want to resort to taking statutory measures to tackle the problem, but would instead talk to shopkeepers about how to tackle the problem, while “promoting mechanisms already in place for members of the public to report retailers for breaking scheme rules”.

From April, the vouchers used by 450,000 families a year will also be able to be swapped for plain frozen fruit and vegetables. Products such as oven chips and stir fries containing added fat, salt or sugar or other ingredients will be not be included in the scheme.

A spokesman for the Department of Health said: "Healthy Start gives help to the most disadvantaged in our society. More than half a million pregnant women, babies and small children in very low income and disadvantaged families benefit from the programme.

"Voucher misuse is rare and is dwarfed by the benefits. We are working with retailers to drive it down still further. We issue over 2.6 million vouchers a month and get less than 15 reports a month of retailers accepting vouchers for products that are not included in the scheme. We follow all of these up."

I agree with Emma Boon and would go further to say these people should get fuck all no vouchers no payments!

So I was particularly disgusted this morning by the British Conservative party's crass hypocrisy in using a British solider on one of their "Propaganda Posters" claiming that the money to be spent on an offering the UK public an "Alternative Voting System" (Quoted as costing £250 Million) would mean the difference between him having body armour or not!

It should be noted at this point that The UK currently provides foreign aid funding for India - a country with its own space programme to the tune of £280m a year!
Its a no brainer for me,stop wasting money on funding lazy wogs we can have a decent system of voting AND save £30 million quid a year!

But of greater interest to the UK tax payer should be the FACT that the body armour provided to our brave troops as standard issue by this self same govt is so fucking useless most of our troops actually provide their own high quality body armour at the own expense if they want to stay alive! WHY when we are giving money out to non deserving causes like India and the rest of the fucking rabble third world?

I am a conservative voter but I am disgusted by this vile hypocrisy David Cameron you are content in allowing this betrayal of our armed forces started by the socialist Labour party you should hang your head in shame.

We recently saw a news article claiming that,A recent study showed that obese women under 30 years old are four times as likely to have an unplanned pregnancies! but typically it came to and gave no conclusion.

A survey included over 12,000 normal weight and obese men and women was observed in Paris to gather facts about their sex life and pregnancy and the results were surprising.
It was found that obese women were 4 times more likely than normal weight women to have unplanned pregnancies. Obese women had fewer sexual relations in a given year, despite the higher number of unplanned pregnancies with heavier women.
"We need to understand more about how obese people feel about their sex
lives, and what drives the observed behaviours and attitudes, one of the so called researchers! sic "Goldbeck-Wood" said.
The reason for the number of unplanned pregnancies in obese women are believed to involved a few different factors including low self esteem, fear of weight gain, and their doctor's fear of prescribing contraception for fear of cardiovascular events.

Today's London Times carries an article showing that David Cameron’s Torys are not doing terribly well against Labour in the marginal areas of the UK.

Quite why anyone would feel that the fact David Cameron is losing the battle with Gormless Brown is headline news, is frankly amusing.

It merely reinforces the point that the conservative party have selected a leader so weak, that the only thing the political commentators can find to write about him is that he is not doing terribly well against the current criminally inept incumbent!

Julia Robinson, head teacher of Meersbrook Primary School, wanted to end the divisive Islamic assembles for Muslim pupils, who make up about a quarter of her 240 pupils. Staff and many parents backed her; Muslim parents accused her of being - you've guessed it - "racist".

Those Christians who think that it's better to have separate Christian and Muslim assemblies rather than the "inclusive" services Mrs Robinson planned are missing the point. They think "faith" is good, irrespective of what faith it is. Myopic idiots.

Admittedly, I wouldn't be surprised if the "inclusive" services were annoyingly PC, like 99 per cent of all school assemblies in Britain. And I don't know what went on in the weekly Islamic assemblies led by a parents at Meersbrook School. But I do know this: Muslim ghettos are being constructed across the North of England, and among their building blocks are school-sanctioned meetings for children from ethnic minorities designed to turn them into strictly observant Muslims – whether they like it or not.

It was all so unfair. She believed she had been brilliant at her job and nothing could have been done to prevent the killing.

Baby P had been under Haringey social services supervision for eight months before his death and was seen some 60 times by health and social workers.

Yet, in that time, he was systematically tortured before being beaten to death. No one noticed the boy’s suffering or, if they did, they failed to act.

If Ms Shoesmith cannot see this was a profound failing in the social care system of which she was in charge, she is completely deluded. (WE already knew that)

Even now, she shows no remorse nor accepts any responsibility on behalf of herself or her department.

So, if she had stayed in her job, she would not even have tried to reform the procedures which failed to prevent Baby P’s death, making a similar incident far more likely in the future.

Ms Shoesmith says the manner of her dismissal was ‘a local tragedy and a national catastrophe’.

It is the 85th birthday of President Mugabe this month and the zealots of his Zanu (PF) party are determined that it should be an occasion that their "great leader" (SIC) will never forget.

In recent days they have been out soliciting “donations” from corporate Zimbabwe and have drawn up a wish list that is scarcely credible in a land where seven million citizens survive on international food aid, 94 per cent are jobless and cholera rampages through a population debilitated by hunger.

The list includes 2,000 bottles of champagne (Moët & Chandon or ’61 Bollinger preferred); 8,000 lobsters; 100kg of prawns; 4,000 portions of caviar; 8,000 boxes of Ferrero Rocher chocolates; 3,000 ducks; and much else besides. A postscript adds: “No mealie meal” — (No that is only suitable for the peasants! even if due to Nigger economics even they cant afford it!) the ground corn staple on which the vast majority of Zimbabweans survived until the country’s collapse rendered even that a luxury.

Those who prefer to give in cash, not kind, are invited to send “donations” of between $45,000 and $55,000 to a US dollar bank account in the name of the 21st February Movement, a youth organisation controlled by Zanu (PF) and named after the date of the President’s birthday.

Western diplomats and aid workers were stunned when shown the list. “It’s just appalling. It’s like they are either completely oblivious to what’s happening in their country, or completely impervious and just don’t care,” said one. “It’s shocking and obscene,” said another, who noted that lobsters were unobtainable in Zimbabwe and would have to be flown in.

Others said it showed that the Mugabe regime had no intention of curtailing its excesses after entering a unity government with the Movement for Democratic Change later this week.

The Times cannot be entirely sure of the list’s authenticity but it came from a reliable source who was contacted by this newspaper, not the other way round. The source had no vested interest in its publication, was hesitant about releasing it and had himself received it from three or four separate businesses that had been approached for donations.

He said that in each case the approaches were made by groups of youths from the 21st February Movement who were aggressive and threatening, and warned that they would make life difficult for the businesses if they did not stump up. At the launch of the fundraising campaign in a Harare hotel last month, Comrade Zhuwawo, the out- going Deputy Minister of Science and Technological Development, said that thousands of youths and invited guests would join the first family for the celebrations in Chinhoyi, in Mashonaland West, Mr Mugabe’s home province, on February 28. He said that hundreds of cattle, goats and sheep would also be slaughtered for the lavish one-day celebration.

“It’s an important day for Zimbabweans to celebrate the life of our great leader and Africa’s hero,” he said. “Zanu (PF) continues to receive massive donations from the corporate world, ordinary Zimbabweans and from people from all walks of life and we are confident that this year’s celebrations will be the best.”

He even suggested that the event would raise funds for the underprivileged, which led one outraged academic to quip last night that this would include almost every Zimbabwean not invited to the party and that most would happily accept the extravagance provided that it was Mr Mugabe’s last.

Mr Mugabe’s birthday parties are seldom understated affairs. The celebration two years ago featured 20,000 guests in the Mboka football stadium in the city of Gweru, which was shown on national television. It featured giant cakes, children in brightly coloured sashes mingling with the “elite” and a speech by the President denouncing homosexuality. For his 80th birthday — which he celebrated in his home village of Kutama, 50 miles west of Harare — the day began with a Catholic Mass followed by a festival of school choirs, a police band and a performance by the gospel singer Fungisai Zvakavapano.

Zimbabwe’s newspapers often publish huge colour advertisements wishing the Old Crocodile birthday greetings from state enterprises that have been haemorrhaging money for years.

This year, however, the Zimbabwean media have reported that even some Zanu (PF) members have complained about the planned celebration. Dzikamai Mavhaire, a senator, told a recent provincial executive meeting in Masvingo: “We cannot fundraise for a single person when we have millions of starving Zimbabweans in the country . . . Only [Mugabe’s] personal friends and relatives within the party or outside should do that.”

The BBC is to review the scoring system for "Strictly Come Dancing" after Saturday's show became marred in confusion.(Yeah we bet they will!!)

Many people phoned the corporation to complain after producers took the decision to put all three remaining contestants through to next week's final.

The four judges on the popular programme had awarded the same points to Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon, meaning the other semi-finalist Tom Chambers could not be saved from a dance-off whatever the outcome of a public vote. (Ohh we will show the public who's boss!)

The BBC said the situation had been unprecedented and the show's producers were examining how they could avoid the situation happening again.

"Exactly what's going to happen is yet to be debated and agreed, but that process will begin soon," a spokesman said.

Millions of viewers had phoned in to save their favourite act. The BBC decided all the votes would be carried over to this Saturday's final.

The decision not to reimburse viewers for their calls made the front pages of a number of Monday's newspapers.

"Strictly no refund" said the Daily Mirror, while the Daily Mail called it another BBC phone-in "fiasco," in reference to the corporation's admission last year a number of its shows had misled the public through fake quizzes and competitions.

The voting confusion follows the controversy caused when former BBC political correspondent John Sergeant quit the show last month.

Sergeant's often inelegant dance steps earned him the derision of the judges but his sense of fun won him mass public popularity who voted to keep him on the show.

A Muslim, who killed two people in a car crash, had been masturbating moments before he caused the fatal accident, a court was told on Monday.

Imran Hussain, 32, who was twice over the legal alcohol limit, was pleasuring himself and driving at speeds of up to 120 mph when he ploughed into the back of a Fiat Punto carrying a family who were heading for a trip to the United States.

The smash killed Gary Proctor, 47, and his 16-year-old son James.

Manchester Crown Court heard that motorists who came to Hussain's aid afterwards saw that his penis was partially exposed, the Press Association reported.

"At the least it must have been a symptom you were not giving your full attention to driving," said Judge Andrew Blake.

The court was told that Hussain had rowed with his wife hours before the crash in August, and had gone out drinking with friends as well as visiting a lap-dancing club.

CCTV footage caught him staggering to the counter at a petrol station where he threatened to kill the cashier.

In the moments before the crash, other motorists reported to police their concerns after seeing his powerful 4x4 Audi Q7 car swerving across lanes of the M62 motorway.

The fatal accident occurred when he veered from the outside lane of the motorway into the Proctors' car.

Prosecutor Andrew Nuttall said police had examined his mobile phone and discovered that he had called an escort agency less than 30 minutes before the smash but it had been closed.

Christian Downard, one of those who had alerted police, went with two friends to Hussain's aid. He saw that Hussain's semi-erect penis was out of his trousers.

"His attempts to contact the agency and the finding of him with an erect penis out of his trousers indicates that he was sexually excited and clearly handling his penis whilst he was driving and at the time of the collision," Nuttall said.

Catherine Proctor, 44, the victims' wife and mother who was in the car at the time, said the family had been heading to the airport to go on a holiday to New York and Florida.

"No words or sentence will ever describe the devastation that we feel," she said in a statement. "No one should ever go through the nightmare I have suffered over the last four months."
